Bill Howie: Chief Executive

Bill has over twenty-five years experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. From an operations background he moved into consultancy with Coopers and Lybrand for several years before taking on a series of senior roles in business, including a worldwide VP role with Grand Met (now Diageo), MD Spectrum Logistics, MD Fashion & Lifestyle Tibbett & Britten, before setting up Variation with Graham Williams.

As well as being CEO of Variation Bill also carries out interim management roles, most recently as MD for Central Parking Services Europe and MD Eden Springs UK.  He is also CEO of Acqsys Limited, an asset management and financing business and is a trustee of Transaid, the UK Logistics industry charity.  http://www.transaid.org/

Graham Williams: Managing Director

Graham is an industry leader in the formulation and delivery of operational supply chain solutions to business and has been in logistics management for over twenty-five years.

Graham's extensive knowledge and expertise comes from hands-on experience in every aspect of the supply chain. Before Variation, he was a divisional director for a leading logistics service provider and during his career has been involved at the strategic, tactical and operational level with customers in every sector.  Graham is also a certified examiner for the Business Excellence Programme.

Hannah Faulds: Associate

Hannah is a specialist in marketing and communications and was the driving force behind the development of the Warehouse Brokerage. She works closely with us on Turnstile programmes and business development initiatives and is a key member of the Variation team. 

Fran Harrison: Business Development

Fran joined us after a very successful career in the education sector.  She is responsible for business development and new market entry and occasionally gets her hands dirty with site visits to new Turnstile properties.

Trevor Harris: Associate

Trevor has over 30 years of experience across the vehicle supply industry and brings innovative solutions to companies large and small in all areas of vehicle acquisition and operation. He has held senior positions in dealerships, contract hire and employee car ownership organisations and has dealt with cars, vans and trucks.

Trevor formed his own company in 2004 to offer bespoke vehicle solutions to SMEs. His passion to deliver complete  packages led to the development of strategic partnerships to provide clients with such services as insurance, fleet management, tyre contracts and vehicle tracking. Trevor is also a key player in setting up Variation distribution operations, providing payroll, HR, fleet management, insurance and finding suitable outbases.Together with William Randall, Trevor started another business in 2009 to offer a single source solution to the logistics and warehouse industries for all their outsourcing needs- Logistics and Warehouse Services (LAWS).

Tony Alexander: Associate

Tony is an experienced Logistics Business Development and Operations Manager with an extensive network of professional contacts, having worked in the logistics industry for over 35 years with companies including: - Kimberly Clark, SSL international, Bibby Distribution, Tibbet & Britten plc, Kuehne & Nagel, Nortel Networks and Rockwell Automation. A natural communicator, with the ability of networking at all levels, he works closely with the Variation team on the Turnstile implementation programme.

William Randall: Associate

William has over 30 years experience in Building & Civil Engineering. William specialised in Concrete Technology during his time in The Middle East and this gave him a detailed knowledge of concrete repair to structures and high rise buildings; “concrete cancer” as it was more commonly known. This intimate knowledge of concrete & resin products enables William to offer a wide range of flooring and structural solutions as well as traffic management systems.

William supports the Turnstile programme in the North East and is also a director of Warehouse and Logistics Services (LAWS).

Chris Metcalfe: Associate

Chris has over 25 years experience in Road and Rail operations. The key areas he works in now are 'O' Licence related fleet management issues, fuel efficiency for fleets, environmental impact audits and rail feasibility studies.  Following a career in the brewing and aggregates sectors Chris formed his own consultancy in 2005.  Chris supports the Turnstile programme in the North West.
